Leadership Skills Summer Camp

NEW for SUMMER 2020 – Registration Now Open!
For youth aged 14-17
August 2-7, 2020

'A nation which has forgotten the quality of courage, which in the past has been brought to public life is not as likely to insist upon or regard that quality in its chosen leaders today - and in fact we have forgotten.' - John F. Kennedy

In partnership with UBC Camps, we're excited to offer tomorrow's leaders a natural launchpad for personal growth. Over this 5 night program from Aug 2nd – 7th, 2019 participants will follow a curated pathway towards empathy and confidence. Successful participants will receive Emergency First Aid with CPR-C and AED certification

This alternative camp blends health, wellness, social responsibility, and communication in a traditional camp environment. Deliverables are aligned with BC Provincial Curriculum’s core competencies: Communication, Creative and Critical Thinking, Positive and Personal Cultural Identity, Personal Awareness and Responsibility, and Social Responsibility.

Teen learners will participate in mental health and technology literacy workshops, practice their public speaking skills and S.M.A.R.T. goal setting, learn more about environmental stewardship inside a leading research forest, and engage in a variety of skill building group games and challenges.

Each day is structured with wellbeing in mind: mental health, inclusion, and healthy lifestyle components. Classic camp activities such as archery and swimming are also embedded throughout the week. There is an on-site nurse in the event of accident or illness.

Camp Highlights:

  • Emergency First Aid with CPR-C and AED Certification

  • Essential 21st Century Skills

  • Mental Health and Self Care

  • Healthy Tech

  • Equity and Inclusion

  • Swimming, canoeing and watersports

This applied learning program is ideal for youth looking to amplify their leadership skills in a proactive manner, while having fun in nature. This is an ideal option for parents wanting to augment their child's summer with a life-long learning experience anchored around personal development.

This Leadership Camp is conveniently based out of Loon Lake and Retreat Centre, adjacent to Golden Ears Provincial Park in Maple Ridge.
